ACMTours -The Great Ocean Road & Grampians National Park Four Day Tour - Melbourne to Adelaide
Come and experience the Great Ocean Road,12 Apostles and the Grampians National Pak in luxury. Join us as we enjoy one of the world’s most spectacular coastal drives in the comfort of one of our vehicles along roads that weave through pristine bushland and along Victoria’s rugged coastline. We start the morning with a drive through Melbourne and over the Westgate Bridge for some amazing views of our beautiful city. After leaving the city we head to Geelong where we take in the water front views of Geelong, our first stop is for Coffee/ Tea in the coastal town of Torquary and visits the famous Bells Beach. As we head to the famous Twelve Apostles you will enjoy the views of The Great Ocean Road and come close to Kangaroos , Koalas and Australian native birds along the way. The lunch is absolutely amazing with the opportunity to experience some home grown / local organic produce plus try some Kangaroo meat and the home cooked breads are to die for. After Lunch we head to Port Campbell National park where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking helicopter flight over the Twelve Apostles and Lochard Gorge or explore the area by the many walk ways which are fantastic also.
With this tour option we take in the spectacular views of The Twelve Apostles at Sunset and at dust we could possibly see some Little Penguins emerge from the sea.
Day Two: Port Campbell to Halls Gap, 235 Kms
We start day two with an early morning drive to Lochard Gorge before breakfast for those who would like to be up early.
After breakfast we are off to the Grampians National Park and on the way we will visit London Bridge, Bay of Islands , Warrnambool and call into the famous small town of Dunkeld and check out what on offer for lunch at the Dunkeld Royal Mail Hotel. The small township of Halls Gap is located in the heart of the Grampians National Park. The Grampians are one of Victoria's most impressive natural attractions, popular with bushwalkers and holidaymakers seeking a mountain forest and lake environment. The Grampians span the western end of Victoria's Great Dividing Range, which consists of soaring mountain peaks, rugged and lush bushland, rivers, waterfalls, and a number of large lakes. The Grampians National Park covers 167,000 hectares and is home to hundreds of species of native animal life. Spring time sees the area covered in colourful wildflowers, while waterfalls flow at their peak at this time of year. A myriad of walking tracks exist in the area, many leading to spectacular lookouts over the park and surrounding ranges. Lake Bellfield, just a few kilometres south of Halls Gap, offers picnic areas, swimming and boating activities.
Day Three: Rest Day at Halls Gap: Walks & visit sites around the Grampians National Park.
Day Four: Halls Gap through to Adelaide: 503 Kms
· Coming into Adelaide we will call into Mount Lofty to take in the views of Adelaide.
· Stopping for lunch along the way.
· Mount Lofty Summit is the highest peak closest to Adelaide and in the Mount Lofty Ranges. At 710.1 metres above sea level, this grandstand position provides ever changing views of Adelaide and surrounds and is often referred to as the 'window' to South Australia
· The Visitor Centre incorporates an accredited information centre providing, free of charge, information on the sights and places in the Adelaide Hills, and the rest of the state. The Mount Lofty Summit Gift Shop displays quality Australian made items and the talents of local people in a variety of gifts for visitors to take home.
· Mt Lofty is an area is rich in aboriginal and European cultural history. Just a short distance away is the Cleland Wildlife Park where you can walk freely amongst the wildlife. Come up close and personal with a cute koala in a daily koala session. Walking trails allow you to traverse the summit.
